At school our teachers used to write on the chalk boards. There were no computers.Sometimes our maths teacher will bring his laptop to show us how graphs are drawn and how certain figures are formed, for example; how to form certain objects using a paper.I remember we used to spend so much time forming those objects because it was hard for all of us to see what was happening in the laptop. It also happened that one day our English teacher allowed us to watch a movie based on a novel that we were learning at school called "Nothing but the truth",that helped us a lot because we gained a better understanding of the novel.
I wish we had computers,so that we could check and have clear pictures of what we were learning about. At least my teachers were trying their best.
lets hope that will soon change for the coming generations to have better education than we did and as teacher to be we must learn how to use technology in educational context so that our learners must be a step ahead with everything

ReplyDeleteYeah! guys we are the one to bring change.
ReplyDeleteam glad that am not the only Product of Kwamanala''people who also experienced the difficulties that i came across during ma schooling years'',when am saying difficulties am reffering to the limit of exposure to technological appliences or in short the usage of ICT in our school, but then in my opinion, we as the product of the school we should be proud of ourselves due to the fact that we went extra miles to make sure that ''we fake it until we make it'' regardless of the environment we were exposed to.but then were are the ones to change all that we went through in the near future.
ReplyDeleteI like your school because it was more advance with technology when i compare it with other schools especial in rural areas i wish you to you may apply it to your class and i hope you also missed your school.
ReplyDeleteWhat is interesting about your school is that your teachers were trying their best to help you guys to succeed on you academic and that is what we need in South Africa, teachers who are supportive and caring. Despite that you're not technologically advance had but you had managed to pass your matric. I salute your teachers and Kwamanala Secondary School.
ReplyDeleteI'M glad that you were having good teachers in your school, teachers who take care to their learners education that is why you passed your metric.
ReplyDeleteThe teachers of Kwamanala High deserves to be called "Heroes".They are hard working and do their best when coming to teaching.
ReplyDeleteI hop that you are proud of being a product of such a wonderful school such as Kwamanala Secondary School. As you are a future teacher to I hop that you have seen the important of learning a computer at school level, I hop you will go out there to help those young ones to learn how to use a computer at a lower level.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I want to do Eric,I don't want the children that I'l be teaching to suffer like I did.I will try my best in helping them.
ReplyDeleteit's a pleasure that in your school you had teacher who are dedicated to their work.so i think you've seen the important of learning ict in the lower classes and i think now it is your duty to go out there and teach about ict progression in school in order to initiate change in the whole country. i would like to thank the way in which we are trained here in this campus it really give us power and motivation to teach professionally and it makes us to forget that during our schooling era we were not exposed to technology devices.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are going to make a bigger change in your community after your graduation, as you see and know the need of the computers. What i like about your teacher is that they really care about their learner they were trying their best to bring change in their classed by using their creativity, although the situation was not allowing them to fulfill their dreams about their learners. But they finally made it because they do not give-up easily they were not relying on technology too much.
ReplyDeletei hope in years to came every schools would be having access to the high learning strategies and might bring alot of change in our SA schools. And always remember where you are from because your teachers made you.
